Golf Courses - Where to Play?

How do we find a great course? Not all golf courses are the same. This may seem obvious, but given that they are all different how do we find golf courses that suit us? What one person considers a great course may be a disappointing experience for another. It all depends on our level of experience and on what we want out of our game of golf.

A great golf course must stay in our memories as a great experience – we must be able to recall the layout and feeling of the course. The most memorable are often a combination of several factors; great members, terrain, scenery, and plantings and the course must have proper maintenance and care to be in good shape. The course must also be challenging but doable. And it must also be able to sustain our interest and enthusiasm on regular use. This may be achieved through aesthetic splendour or varied landscapes. The best golf courses often have spectacular backdrops or are within a stunning environment.

Australia has over 1500 golf courses. South East Queensland and the Gold Coast in particular, provide the greatest collection of resort golf destinations in Australia.
